Privacy Policy

Spaceback collects no data. None.

Spaceback is built to run entirely on your Mac. It has no account, makes no network connections, and contains no analytics or tracking of any kind. Nothing you scan, view, or remove ever leaves your device.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal data, usage data, file contents, file names, or device identifiers. There is no sign-in and no server that receives information from the app.

How Spaceback works with your files

• Spaceback is a sandboxed Mac App Store app. It can only read the folders you explicitly grant it access to, using macOS security-scoped bookmarks.
• All scanning and analysis — file sizes, duplicate detection (SHA-256), and on-device photo similarity (Apple’s Vision framework) — happens locally on your Mac.
• Removing a file always moves it to the Trash, where it stays fully recoverable until you empty it. Spaceback never permanently deletes your files.

Purchases

The optional one-time “Pro” unlock is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store via StoreKit. Spaceback never sees your payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Third parties

Spaceback includes no third-party SDKs, advertising, trackers, or analytics services.

Children

Spaceback does not collect data from anyone, including children, and is rated 4+.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, any change will be minor.
